[Seattle, WA, October 10, 2023] Remmie Health, an innovative health-tech company leading the way in in-home diagnosis of ear-nose-throat infections, is proud to announce its selection as a recipient of the $25,000 SBIR/STTR Matching Fund Grant awarded by the Life Science Washington Institute (LSWI), in partnership with The Washington State Department of Commerce. This accolade cements Remmie Health’s standing as a pioneer in telehealth solutions, especially in facilitating remote diagnoses and recovery, consequently alleviating the need for parents to visit doctors' offices for diagnosis.

Life Science Washington Institute (LSWI), in partnership with The Washington State Department of Commerce, awarded $500,000 in grants to 20 organizations across Washington state. The grants support a diverse group of entrepreneurs by prioritizing entrepreneurs and companies located outside of King County as well as women-led and/or socially or economically disadvantaged companies throughout the state. Made possible by redeploying money returned to the state’s Life Sciences Discovery Fund, the SBIR/STTR Matching Fund and the Washington Competes grant programs support early-stage companies focused on developing healthcare solutions that improve lives.

Richard Giersch, Executive Director of LSWI, commented on this commitment, “Life Science Washington Institute is proud to announce the grant recipients as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of life sciences innovators.” Alison Beason, Director/Sector Lead, Life Science & Global Health, Washington State Department of Commerce, further underscored the significance of the initiative, emphasizing its role in bolstering Washington-based biotech companies.

Highlighting Remmie Health’s dedication to its mission, Jane Zhang, Founder and CEO of Remmie Health Inc., shared, “We continue to represent our end-users and advocate for health equity, especially for the underserved communities, often in rural locations, developing countries, or simply busy parents needing support taking care of their children and elderly family members.” With the newly awarded funds, Remmie Health aims to refine its pilot initiatives, paving the way for an expansive rollout of their telehealth solutions, which will be invaluable for families with young children suffering from chronic ear infections or requiring post-ear tube surgery follow-ups in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) within Washington state.

Remmie Health’s selection for this grant is a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to health equity and their innovative solutions designed to transform the healthcare sector, particularly in ear-nose-throat diagnoses.
