[Seattle, WA, August 6, 2026] As part of a Digital Uplift initiative supporting Hospital in the Home programs across Local Health Districts and Specialty Health Networks, the NSW Ministry of Health has purchased 89 Remmie4 digital otoscopes, expanding access to remote ear, nose and throat assessment across New South Wales. 

The Remmie4 digital otoscope is a high-quality, easy-to-use ear camera that enables clinicians and patients to see, capture and share clear views of the ear canal and eardrum using a phone, tablet or computer. By supporting the secure sharing of ENT images and symptom information with clinicians from virtually anywhere, the device strengthens the delivery of connected care beyond the hospital setting.

NSW Health has procured 89 Remmie digital otoscopes for distribution to participating Hospital in the Home services across NSW.

Remmie Health is designed to reduce unnecessary doctor visits and improve access to specialist input and accurate diagnosis. Through its digital otoscope and telehealth-enabling app, users are guided to capture ENT medical history while enabling real-time sharing of physical findings during telehealth consultations. 

Propell, the Australian and New Zealand distributor for Remmie Health, has played a key role in bringing the technology to market and supporting its adoption in clinical settings. The company has focused on replacing outdated tools with more scalable, clinician and consumer friendly technology that can support a greater number of patients at a lower cost than many existing devices.

Propell has also integrated the Remmie4 digital otoscope with Healthdirect Video Call, allowing patients to connect remotely with clinicians and have their ear, nose and throat symptoms assessed during a telehealth appointment.

Since launching Remmie Health in Australia two years ago and securing listing on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods, Propell has seen growing demand for remote monitoring solutions as health services respond to increasing patient need and stretched clinical resources. The Remmie4 digital otoscope is helping transform the way clinicians monitor ENT symptoms, with nurse-led clinics in South Australia already using the technology successfully since 2025.

The idea for Remmie began with founder Jane's personal experience after her son developed repeated ear infections soon after starting child care. After four infections in one year, including one persistent episode lasting 40 days, she set out to create a better way for families to monitor symptoms and access care sooner.

This latest NSW Health rollout marks an important step in the expansion of digital health tools that support care at home, improve clinician visibility, and enhance access to timely ENT assessment across the public health system.
