Remmie invited to speak at the 2024 Pediatric Device Symposium

by Remmie Health 09 Aug 2024
Watch our CEO present at the CTIP 2024 Pediatric Device Innovation Symposium in Chicago, IL on August 9:

“At home” (no pun intended) was how I felt at the 2024pediatricdevicesymposium held by the Consortium for Technology & Innovation in Pediatrics at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago this past Friday. “Patient engagement” was a prevailing theme throughout - it is proven a sweet spot and essence of success for many health innovations and investments, with no exception to pediatrics.

I had the fortune to reunite with the CTIP team Juan Espinoza
Grzegorz Zapotoczny
Salima Jamal Bianca Riello Kathryne Cooper, MBA Melissa Bent who are driving changes in the current pediatric tech dev and transfer model to involve patient-centric design thinking and earlier patient-provider-developer co-design dialogs, and calling for investors to prioritize the pediatric medical device (PMD) space. As CTIP Director Dr. Juan Espinoza put it:
😥lacking and lagging of PMD availability and customized experience behind adults by about 10 years
💪developing PMDs directly address health inequity
😥demand is so high especially for the young and critically-ill children

As a parent taking care of sick children myself, I’m glad Remmie Health has consistently listened and adapted to patients’ needs for shaping our products, and are committed to keep doing so iCAN (International Children's Advisory Network) PedsMrkt Sabina Goldstein Sallie Guezuraga, MBA.

“This is transformative”, said Dr. Dana Thompson who met with me to discuss the potential of the Remmie.ai-powered ENT primary care. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to collaborate with the visionary Lurie team in removing the barrier for patients to accessible, affordable and accurate ENT care.

I’m honored to be among like-minded pediatric device innovators Harvey Karp, MD, FAAP Ashley S. H. Moy Happiest Baby (the maker of SNOO) Cast21 who have placed patients’ voice first and reached great success with elegant solutions that are so well-received.

“The journey of pediatric innovation is like a book - You don’t know what each chapter reads like, but you do know the ending” well said Dr. Harvey Karp, MD, FAAP. I’m deeply inspired by the hashtagsnoo story and your wisdom. Now let’s build each chapter for the patients.
