What is Remmie Care

Remmie Care is included with your Remmie 4 otoscope for 3 months through the Remmie app. You can take a picture of your ear, upload it, and get feedback from a clinician—usually within 24 hours. This helps reduce unnecessary in-person visits, saving you time and money.

When it comes to some ear-nose-throat and cold/flu symptoms, it can be difficult for you to decide if you should see a clinician right away. Online visits are not possible for a clinician to see clear images. Without images of the ear, online visits are less effective, and you often must drive for an appointment or wait in the ER.

It can be hard to know if you need to see a clinician right away for ENT or cold/flu symptoms. Online visits don’t allow clinicians to see clear images. Without ear images, care is less effective, often leading to a trip to the clinic or a long ER wait.

Remmie Care allows you to describe your symptoms and provide more detailed information via a physician approved questionnaire for a clinician or telehealth provider's review and diagnosis. With Remmie App, you can both use the Remmie 4 device and request a clinician’s review from Remmie Care.

How does Remmie Care work?

Here's how Remmie Care works in three simple steps:

Step 1

First, you sign up to receive the Remmie connected otoscope, a user-friendly device that enables you to take clear images of you or your kid's ear.

Step 2

Next, you use the Remmie App to submit these images along with any symptoms you are experiencing.

Step 3

Finally, within a day, your submissions will be reviewed by a clinician, and they will provide feedback on possible findings directly through the App. Looking inside the ear previously required the patient and physician to meet in-person, which isn't always easy especially in bad weather with the little one. This streamlined process ensures you receive timely and accurate assessments without the hassle of traveling in to a medical facility.

🔧 Device & Technical Requirements

Do I need to have a Remmie device to use Remmie Care?

You can also upload images from other otoscopes—not just Remmie.

How and where are images and videos stored?

When you capture images or video using the photo button on your Remmie device or your mobile device or tablet, they are automatically stored on the device. 
Information is stored in the physical memory “photo gallery” of the phone/tablet that patients use, along with all photos taken with the phone/tablet. Information of the person using the otoscope is also stored in a HIPAA-compliant cloud accessible by the account owner only.

Can different profiles be created in Remmie Care?

Yes, different accounts can be created to use one App. You can switch between accounts, and they'll be separately accessible by the respective account owners. One user can also create different "Profiles" within each account. The Account owner will have access to all Profiles.

🧑‍⚕️ Clinician Access & Experience

Who will be reviewing my images and videos?

All our clinicians are fully licensed and have extensive experience in their respective fields. They are carefully selected based on their qualifications and expertise.

Will I be able to see which clinician reviewed my images? Can I request a specific clinician, or will I be assigned to one?

Yes, you can either be assigned a clinician, or if your physician is signed up through Remmie Care, you’ll be able to use them or their provider network. If your provider is not listed through Remmie Care, you can email yourself a report and send it to your physician.

Is the clinician 24-7 online? How long will it take for me to receive the clinician’s feedback?

You can use our device at any time of the day, but your clinician isn’t required to respond in under 24 hours after the time of submission.

📲 Platform Features & Usage

What is Remmie Care?

Remmie Care is our new service that offers advanced features of the Remmie app. You can take photos anytime, include more information regarding your symptoms and get health suggestions about your condition from a board-certified clinician.

Is there a limit to the number of submissions I can make per day or per week?

There is a maximum of 10 submissions per day. However, it could take your clinician up to 24 hours to respond to each submission regardless of how many submissions you send.

How many languages are supported for translation in this app? Is there a translation service or translator available to help me understand the diagnosis?

The Remmie app supports English and Spanish. We do not have a separate translator or translation service available.

💊 Medical Records, Prescriptions & Diagnosis

If I go to the ER, all the medical records will be sent back to my family doctor via myChart. Does Remmie care provide this feature as well?

Remmie will send a summary report back to you via email in PDF, so you can upload to your MyChart or share with anyone of your choice.

You will need to speak to your physician regarding your connection to myChart. They may or may not have that capability in their practice.

Can I get my prescriptions through Remmie Care?

No, Remmie Care is only a platform that can connect you with telehealth professionals or your physician to help diagnose ear-nose-throat conditions. You will still need to speak to or see your physician to receive any prescriptions or care plans your clinicians might suggest.

If the diagnosis is critical, will this help me get an earlier appointment with my provider?

We can’t guarantee earlier than 24 hours. However, if the diagnosis is critical, you may need to take a trip to urgent care.

Do I have access to Remmie Care if I choose the basic plan?

The Basic Plan includes a Remmie 4 device and a 30-day free trial of Remmie Care.

If I buy my device on Amazon, how do I get Remmie Care?

You will need to go to Remmiehealth.com to purchase the Remmie Care service. It is not included in the device like it would be if you received it from a physician or purchased it from our RemmieHealth.com site.
